$19 Million Renovation Completed
MILWAUKEE, WIS. (March 25, 2009) – The Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, downtown Milwaukee’s second largest hotel, is nearing completion of a $19+ million facelift. Upgrades include fully renovated guestrooms and suites, a $1 million elevator modernization, new front entrance and guest registration desk, plus a new first-floor restaurant and lounge. Renovations of the 481-room hotel will be completed in April 2009.
“We’re very excited to unveil the extensive upgrades and contemporary touches that are sure to set our property apart,” said Gerald Rappaport, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. “The $19+ million reinvestment represents our continued commitment to guest satisfaction and the community,” said Rappaport.
Renovations to the 481 guestrooms and suites combine the latest technological enhancements with contemporary urban décor. Beginning with a color palette of earthy yellows, calm blues and rich zebra wood furnishings, guests will enjoy a soothing, yet warm atmosphere. Flat-screen TVs, Jack Pack adaptor panels, which allow connection between a laptop and flat screen TV, iHomes®, wireless Internet, Speakman® showerheads and plush Grand Hyatt Beds™ are among the amenities designed to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay.
A new front entrance, lobby and guest registration desk are also part of the unveiling.
Casual materials with a modern twist were applied for a classically sophisticated ambiance. Touches such as plush fabrics, classic pinstripes, casual split-faced travertine stone, rich zebra wood, splashes of cowhide and a contemporary wave-patterned custom carpet inspired by the Milwaukee River echo the hotel’s Midwestern heritage.
Adjacent to the front desk will be the hotel’s new first-floor restaurant and lounge, Bistro 333 and Bar 333. Offering the best of urban chic and casual comfort, Bistro 333’s warm décor will invite diners to experience the fine unassuming fare found in home kitchens across Wisconsin. Bar 333 will feature an assortment of fresh-made, hand-shaken drinks designed by the bar’s experienced team of Liquid Chefs, as well as an extensive wine list featuring over 60 regional and imported varieties. Stylish accents such as polished glass mosaic tiling, sliding wood panel doors inlaid with colorful, geometric shapes and crisp, white cotton sheers add to the relaxed setting.
Other enhancements to the property include a $1 million elevator modernization to improve the efficiency of guest transportation and the installation of wireless Internet to the hotel’s 19 meeting rooms, which were renovated in 2006 with upscale furnishings, carpeting, wall coverings and state-of-the-art projection. The Hyatt Regency Milwaukee’s current $19+ million renovation project began in 2007 shortly after Noble Investment Group of Atlanta purchased the hotel.
